The Express and The Mirror report today that Chelsea’s German defender Robert Huth could be the subject of a loan move to Villa in January.
The defender has failed to break into the first team at Chelsea and although he said in the summer he wishes to stay and fight for his place, he may well have changed his mind since once again being out of favour. The player is desperate for first team action in order to have a chance of a place in the German World Cup squad.
Manchester City have also been linked but DOL is a known long term admirer of the player.
Huth’s agent Manfred Schulte says ‘He is trying to break into the Chelsea team and at the same time he is trying to be in the national squad. It is very difficult for him to achieve that and he will make up his mind before Christmas what he wants to do. He knows that he has to play regularly to be in the German squad and Villa are a big club. It would be a move that suits everyone.’
