I Don`t Believe a Word

Sometimes, in this editorial role, I stumble across the odd headline or two that has me shaking my head with a wry smile fixed on my face.

Today was such a day!

Searching for something to grace the Vital Chelsea front-page today, when stories are not as common as usual courtesy of the international break, I found a little piece of transfer tittle-tattle.

It came courtesy of the Italian media vehicle, Calciomercato which, in getting its message across somehow managed to include the name of Chelsea in its content.

The article our source produced carried the fact that the Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini, was set to sign a new contract with the current Serie A champions, Juventus.

Continuing, it suggested that by signing this new contract it would end any chance of the player joining Chelsea Football Club, suggesting Antonio Conte wanted him.

Now there`s not much to shake your head about with a wry smile until you read the small-print and read that Chiellini is now 33-years-of-age!

As if we`d sign somebody of that age!
