With the international break stiilllllll on-going, we`re a week away from Chelsea actually having a game. It`s clear we all hate international time.

The site stats drop, there`s not much to write about other than recycling transfer gossip. With that in mind, those that support England, and I`m generalising, are pretty apathetic when it comes to the national team.

I lost interest in the with England having taken my, then young, son to see them play some nondescript opposition up at Old Trafford. It was during the redevelopment of Wembley Stadium. We arrived early, looking to enjoy the pre-match build up.

We decided to wait for the arrival of the team bus, along with a few hundred other people, in the pouring rain. After about an hour of standing there the bus rocked up parked near to players entrance and the bus emptied out. As they were applauded off the bus, not one of the players acknowledged the supporters.

The only person who left that bus and had the good grace to wave over, was the then assistant manager to Steve McClaren, Terry Venables. Everyone else had their heads buried in their Beats headphones.

Another occasion that was disappointing came when Wembley was reopened. We went along to support our country and those playing. We sat behind some Liverpool fans, judging by the Gerard shirts they were wearing. The teams were announced, Frank Lampard was relentlessly booed by the three in front of us.

England invariably let themselves down in major competitions. The pressure that`s heaped upon them by the media doesn`t help. When the World Cup does come along this summer though, I`ll tune into the England games with much expectation, only to have any hopes dashed fairly quickly.

What about you? How do you view international football. Do you like it or loathe it. Our Front page poll asks that very question.
