The Diego Costa situation continues to rumble along without any real hint of a possible satisfactory conclusion to both club and player.

At the moment there are considerable air-miles between the two parties, Chelsea are about to complete their tour of the Far East, with a fixture against AC Milan on Saturday, whilst Diego is in Brazil going through some kind of personalised fitness regime on the beach, in stark comparison to pictures of the Chelsea squad being put through their paces in a gym in Singapore.

The latest we have on the Diego Costa situation is that AC Milan have shown some interest in taking on the player with, according to Sky Sports, the Italian clubs chairman, Marco Fassone, confirming that talks, relating to a deal, have been held with Diego Costa`s agent, Jorge Mendes., with Fassone being quoted as having remarked,

‘I would prefer to avoid talking about players from other teams; Diego Costa is a great player, but a Chelsea player.

‘We went to see Jorge Mendes; there is a lot you can talk to him about. Costa is a great player but he is of Chelsea. That’s all.’

Seemingly, a move to Milan didn`t appeal that much to Diego who still hankers for a return to Atletico Madrid, knowing that he`d not be able to play in a competitive fixture until their transfer embargo is lifted in January 2018.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are left as the saying goes, with a bad apple in the bucket, although reflecting on what Diego has done for the club during his time here might be a tad harsh!
