Is Now The Time To Restore Kante To His Original Position? You Decide.

|

When Chelsea Football Club, quite probably under the instruction of Maurizio Sarri, opted to bring in Jorginho, from Napoli, a few eyebrows were raised.

Although Jorginho is an excellent player, it was noted that the Italian’s preferred position is sitting in front of the back four and dictating the pattern of play.

At the time thoughts turned to the possibility that Sarri would be playing both Kante and Jorginho in front of the back four, thereby establishing a defensive stronghold.

But that wasn’t the case.

Instead, he’s deployed Kante out on the right, in midfield, an alien position for somebody who has contributed to two Premier League title and a World Cup playing as the holding midfielder.

Initially, Sarri’s decision looked to be the correct one, with Jorginho providing some decent performances as Chelsea started the season unbeaten, in all competitions.

But now the cracks are starting to appear, the opposition appears to have worked out that if Jorginho isn’t given the time to dictate the pace and pattern of the game, Chelsea struggle.

When pushed, previously, on whether Kante should revert to his previous role, Sarri muttered something about the player not being technical enough for the role.

But what is your opinion on the subject matter?
