Yesterday, as we made a sweep of the transfer speculation available to us, we identified the possibility of one of the defenders in our squad playing his football elsewhere.
Our article – evertons-desire-to-sign-chelsea-defender-remains – covered the ongoing speculation implying that Fikayo Tomori could be heading to Everton.
Today, as we undertook a similar exercise, it appears that another defender who doesn’t appear to be part of Frank Lampards’ plans is set for a move.
Lurking on the social media network is a tweet from a respected source, Di Marzio, that infers one of our full-backs, Davide Zappacosta, is set for a loan spell with Genoa.
Last season, the 28-year-old was on loan at Roma but only made 9 appearances in Serie A.
With there being no immediate future for Zappacosta at Stamford Bridge, surely a better option would be to sell him and recoup some of the reputed €28 million we paid for him back in 2017.
