It Really Is All Change At The Bridge.

|

We all knew that Maurizio Sarri would be leaving Chelsea, returning to his native Italy to manage Juventus, something that has been confirmed by the BBC.

but it also seems that his assistant coach, the legend that is Gianfranco Zola, will be departing as well.

Zola, as part of Sarri’s backroom team, was only on a one-year contract with it being reported by Sky Sports, that the original deal will not be extended.

The above source goes on to imply that Zola has been offered an ambassadorial role at the club but has rejected it as he wishes to continue in a coaching role.

Zola’s position is a clear indication of just how cut-throat a business this managerial lark is, these days.

The Sardinian was a legend on the pitch during his time with Chelsea but with a new era set to befall us, it seems all remnants of the old regime are being brushed away.

Have the club been too harsh when it comes to Zola or was it the only route they could take?
