Italian Club Interested In Chelsea Defender Who Is A First Team Regular

|

The forthcoming transfer window could be an interesting period.

Even more so if the Court of Arbitration for Sport can offer a judgement that would see Chelsea’s two-window transfer ban reduced to one window.

If that were to be the case then Chelsea, under the guidance of Frank Lampard, could bring a couple of new faces to Stamford Bridge.

However, there is also the possibility that other clubs could enquire as to the availability of several of our own players, it really is the nature of the game.

Already, one source, The Express, is championing the suggestion that our former boss, Maurizio Sarri, is showing interest in reuniting with our Italian left-back Emerson Palmieri.

Palmieri, currently out injured, has been a revelation since replacing Marcus Alonso in the left-sided defensive position.

The 25-year-old, signed from Roma for £25 million in January 2018, has proven that he is a better defender than Alonso, although some would argue that Alonso brings more to the side in an attacking sense.

It was, of course, Sarri who gave Emerson his chance to shine towards the back end of last season.

But the big question remains, would Chelsea be prepared to sanction a deal?

Hopefully, any enquiries from Juventus will be met with a quick rebuff, I for one would be disappointed if Emerson were allowed to leave.

But is that a view you concur with?
