As we prepare for the opening of the winter`s transfer window, we can finally bring closure on the saga that enveloped the whole of the summer`s window.

Over in Spain, our old striker, Diego Costa, has been unveiled as an Atletico Madrid player. For Costa himself, it must comes as a relief to get the nightmare over, and get back to playing football.

Finally able to speak as a Madrid player, The Express have coverage of the 29 year-old`s introduction to the Spanish media. Costa had words about his time with Chelsea, and he had one small regret,

`I did not learn English, which was a pity, I was very well, the people, the fans, the teammates have helped me a lot. They made my life easier.`

`Chelsea is a great club. I have a special affection for them and there are only good memories.`

He was also asked if his game had changed since his departure,

`I think that with the passage of time you always learn in all aspects of life. On and off the field. I hope I can contribute to La Liga from what I learned there.`

A touch of contrition there from the Brazilian born Spanish international. The passage of time does heal wounds as now he`s gone the time may have come to forget his past misdemeanours and move on. He played for Chelsea, and was very much appreciated during the good times, and maybe that`s how we should best remember him.

He may well get short shrift here, but Vital Chelsea wish Diego all the best as his football journey continues, unless he`s playing Chelsea.
