It’s Yet More Jeepers Keepers For Chelsea As The Media Run Riot

|

The media continue to focus on the possibility of Chelsea signing a new goalkeeper this summer.

Numerous column inches continue to be churned out suggesting that all is not as it should be when it comes to the future of Kepa Arrizabalaga at Stamford Bridge.

Regular visitors to Vital Chelsea may recall it is something we’ve touched on before with the following article being an illustration – speculation-grows-as-to-who-will-be-between-the-sticks-for-chelsea-next-season.

Although it has also been reported that Chelsea are looking at the young Bournemouth goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale – chelsea-linked-with-the-acquisition-of-a-young-keeper-who-has-had-an-impressive-first-season-in-the-premier-league – the media are convinced that the real intent the club has continues to be focussing on securing either Dean Henderson (Manchester United but on loan at Sheffield United) or Andre Onana (Ajax).

This weekend, to showcase the point, The Sun ran an article that implied Manchester United are looking to tie Henderson to a new deal, said to be worth £100,000 to keep the player on their books while The Daily Mail, are championing the inference that our new forward, Hakim Ziyech, is hoping to persuade Chelsea that Onana is the man for us, although I’m not sure what sway his opinion would have with the hierarchy.

My view sat in the editorial chair, is that Chelsea should stick with Kepa, the young Spaniard has the ability to succeed but would benefit enormously from having a stronger back-four in front of him.

Is that a view you concur with or would you beg to differ?

Who would you, given a choice, like to see between the posts at Chelsea next season?
