The fixture, against Manchester City this evening at the Etched, will go some way to defining where we are as a developing team.

Whilst we all harbour hopes of winning the Premier League title Jose Mourinho is a little more cautious, viewing this season as a development season.

For Jose, everything, as he builds the squad in his own way, is geared towards next season when the Special One believes we`ll be the team to beat.

Discussing how the current season might pan out, Jose has remarked to the media ahead of the game tonight,

“If we finish second it`s fantastic. If we finish second doing the formation work, it`s an acceleration of our progress. It`s good.”

“I`m enjoying this process, a process that will end in winning. And next pre-season, you will hear me say something completely different.”

“I want to win, more than ever – it doesn`t matter how many times I did it.”

“There are little details we have to sort. But we want Chelsea to go in a certain direction.”

Do you share Jose`s opinions?

Would a second place finish be something decent to reflect on?

Or should we be going hell-for-leather to claim that title?

Here at Vital Chelsea we`d be interested to hear your views on the questions above.
