I`m not sure if drawing Atletico Madrid in the Champions League was a good thing or bad things as far as Diego Costa is concerned.
The good folk of The Sun, on their back page this morning, are suggesting that when the two clubs were drawn in the same group there was a stark lack of dialogue between those representing the two clubs.
Of course, if Diego Costa were to return to his former club he`d play no part in the two group matches with Atletico unable to field any new signings until January 2018.
However, there still remains another alternative temporary solution on the table.
Ahead of the weekend clash between Chelsea and Everton, the Everton manager Ronald Koeman held his pre-match press conference.
Once again, the Dutchman re-iterated that he would welcome a loan-deal that would see Diego Costa play for the Goodison Park based club with Koeman remarking,
‘I said always a warm welcome for every good player and he’s a good player.
‘We are still looking to bring a striker in.’
Could some kind of deal possibly be thrashed out before the summer transfer window closes next Thursday evening?
