Lampard Set To Make Another Raid On Chelsea

|

The Chelsea legend that is Frank Lampard continues his preparations for his first season as a manager.

After taking on the role at Derby County, Lampard has already enticed Jody Morris to leave Chelsea to become his assistant.

Today, the insinuation has appeared in the media suggesting that Lampard is close to taking another Chelsea employee to the Championship side.

According to the respected news source, the Telegraph, Lampard is close to securing a deal that would see the highly rated teenage midfielder, Mason Mount, join on a season-long loan.

Mason, just 19-years-of-age, is tipped to have a great future in the game and has recently returned from a loan spell in Dutch football, with Vitesse Arnhem.

With Chelsea’s current squad overloaded with midfield talent a loan move makes perfect sense for the player, he’s at the stage of his career where he needs regular football and a move to Derby would provide just that.

Furthermore, Mason will learn so much from working under Frank who, we perceive to have been the perfect midfielder during his time with us.

However, before the deal is signed and delivered, let’s hope there is a clause in it that guarantees Mason will be given sufficient game-time, a season sat on the bench is not what we want to see.
