Lewandowski to Chelsea Speculation Resurfaces

|

It’s Sunday, a day when the papers are awash with supposed transfer speculation, as editors strive to sell newspapers on the supposed day of rest.

I’ve learned, over the years, to take most of the Sunday speculation with a pinch of salt and ignore it.

However, I’m going to make an exception today.

Lurking in the pages of the Daily Star, is the interesting insinuation that Chelsea are, once again, being linked with the Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski.

The 29-year-old Polish international contains to show his prolific scoring prowess, in the Bundesliga, having netted 27 goals in 27 appearances this season.

But, as our source suggests, the striker is looking for a new challenge.

As you’d expect there are a raft of top-clubs nominated as possible destinations, namely, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United, as well as our good selves.

However, our source takes great delight in pointing out that Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, is keen to push through a deal that would see the striker join Chelsea, for a supposed fee somewhere in the region of £70 million.

But, one obstacle could clearly scupper any impending deal.

Would Lewandowski be prepared to join a club whereby he wouldn’t be sampling the delights of Champions League football next season?

Your thoughts on the above subject matter, in the comments facility beneath this article, would be greatly appreciated.
