Chelsea, courtesy of a 4-0 home win for Tottenham against Bournemouth, have seen their lead at the top of the Premier League cut to four points.

The trip to take on Manchester United, and a certain Jose Mourinho, on Easter Sunday, has suddenly become even more important, if the title race isn`t to become one that involves ourselves and Spurs.

Ahead of the game we have compiled some early team news.

Starting with our hosts Manchester United:

Having missed the games away to Sunderland (Premier League) and Anderlecht (Europa League), David de Gea is expected to return to the Manchester United starting eleven after recovering from a hip injury.

Jose Mourinho could also have the option of selecting either, or both, of Ashley Young or Wayne Rooney who have both returned to training.

The former Chelsea favourite, Juan Mata, is side-lined for the remainder of the season after undergoing a groin operation.

Also out injured are the centre-back pairing of Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, both of whom will not play again this month.

Continuing with Chelsea:

We`re pleased to report that Antonio Conte has a fully-fit squad to select from.

However, the Italian has to decide whether Cesc Fabregas or Willian should be included in the starting eleven.

  • For me Fabregas and Willian should start the game while Matic should stay routed to the bench. He’s become more of a liability than an asset to team. Some of us used to criticize Mikel when he was still with us but Matic is just worse. He can’t defend, can’t pass, can’t intercept, so slow, commit silly fouls, cedes possession to the opposition. He’s just a shadow of his former self, the least improved player from last season. Costa should also be dropped. We should play with Pedro or Hazard as false 9.
    my team selection to beat United;
    Courtois,
    Cahill,
    Luiz,
    Azpilicueta,
    Moses,
    Alonso,
    Kante,
    Hazard,
    Pedro,
    Fabregas,
    Willian.

  • My worry would be thuggery, and a blind ref . We can expect Herrera to go studs up on Hazard, and of course Rojo will wind up Costa . Matic also worries me a for similar reasons to Chistan, while i do not think he is that bad, he has been off the pace as has Luiz. United are different at home, but hell, “lets just win this” and restore that lead . I have a feeling that the real Costa may show up tomorrow (fingers crossed )

  • Quite harsh on Matic @Chistan, subject defends well for me & he’s got the physicality/presence to ward off possible threats by Fellaini, Herera & Pogba. He has the capacity to nuliify their thuggery & pick a pass or even score the much needed goal. Remember the Former one worked on all those that scored 4 against his MU side except Kante in that FA cup match, & can do same against him today. So I expect Costa or Matic or even our wingbacks to step up this time & score as I see Mou setting up to frustrate us. Fabregas can come in 20-30mins left when they are bit tired since he covers less ground with little defensive solidity. KTBFFH!!!

  • I just hope that the previous plan which was to foul Hazard out of the game at any cost is ditched but do I think that will be the case? In a word no!
