Match Day Focus – Premier League – Wolves v Chelsea

|

Just a matter of days after seeing the long unbeaten run end, at Everton of all places, Chelsea are back in action this evening when they travel to Molineux to take on Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we have opted for a new slant on our ‘Name the Starting X1’ and ‘Match Day Moments’ features by combining them in a new style feature.

Firstly, we are asking you to second guess the starting eleven that Frank Lampard will opt for.

Will the boss go for a touch of squad rotation to freshen up a side that lacked a touch of attacking flair at Goodison Park, or will he stick with the same eleven?

Secondly, before the game kicks-off, we would also like you to predict the final score, will it be an away win, will it be a home win, or will it be a draw?

Just drop your starting eleven predictions and final score into the comment facility beneath this article.

Once that is done then start to focus on the actual game whereby, we are asking you offer your views on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big game.

2 – The starting XI selected by Frank Lampard

3 – The action as it happens at Molineux.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period following the sounding of the final whistle.

Will we be celebrating Chelsea getting back to winning ways this evening or will, just like at the weekend, it will be a disappointing result?

Matchday focus is a better name as it encompasses all aspects of the match rather than moments

Anything less than a win today is unacceptable if we truly Intend to be around the top in this mysterious season where the teams around the top keep changing places by the week. A win last time out could’ve taken us top but we find ourselves drop 2 places as a consequence of that loss. We need to be dynamic and very unpredictable with our play as teams are starting to work out how to stop us. Everton were happy for us to pass the ball around and were glad we kept crossing from the flanks. All we needed that day was someone who could drive at them through the middle and make them commit errors and could. The few times we did that we earned freekicks which we almost scored with.

1-1, 20 min to go … we have dominated , but a deflected shot just beats mendy and we are back to square one.

Last week we somewhat got away with a loss as most of the other teams dropped points too, wont happen every week.

  • ZeeNut says:

We have lacked that finishing touch, barring that excellent Giroud goal …

1-2, Wolves score brilliantly on the break .

REALITY CHECK for those who accepted and were deceived the mind games of klopp, Jose, rival fans, pundits…

    Why did Chelsea loan barkley?

Sign one more winger….!! Bring back Barkley in January.

Lampard adjust your tactics… Good teams stops it easily…. It’s only about crosses.

It happened by this time last season, it is happening again….

Lampard needs to take a hard look, and know why it is happening again… The same time, this season again.
