Match Day Moments – Carabao Cup Semi Final First Leg – Tottenham (A)

|

51,000 will file through the Wembley turnstiles to see Chelsea go head-to-head with Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

The Chelsea support will be hoping their side can reverse the recent trend that has seen them lose their last two fixtures against Tottenham Hotspur and give themselves a great chance of reaching the Caraboa Cup Final.

Earlier this season, when the two sides met at Wembley in the Premier League, Chelsea produced one of their worst performances of the season, going 2-0 down as early as the 16th minute, a deficit they were never going to recover from.

In his pre-match conference, on Monday, Maurizio Sarri, re-iterated that Chelsea must approach this game in a different manner to last time, remarking:

“We need to approach this match in another way, because we lost the last match in the first 16 minutes.

“They were really more aggressive than us, more determined than us.

“Now we know very well if we approach the same there’s no solution for us. I want to speak before about this, otherwise it’s useless to speak about tactics.”

A third defeat, on the trot, against Tottenham Hotspur would be a bitter pill to swallow and something we refuse to contemplate.

As usual, we’re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to leave your opinions on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big game.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Maurizio Sarri.

3 – The action as it happens at Wembley Stadium.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate aftermath of the final whistle sounding.

Up the Chels!
