On Wednesday evening, Chelsea play their third game in Group H when they take on the Dutch side, Ajax, in Amsterdam.

In their previous two games in the group, Chelsea have been beaten, at home, by Valencia whilst also winning, away from home, against Lille.

But there is no doubt that Ajax are the most difficult opposition in our group and the home and away fixtures, against the Dutch giants, will prove to be the toughest games.

In the splendid city of Amsterdam, Chelsea will be cheered on by approximately 2500 supporters in the wonderful Amsterdam Arena but we’ve no doubt several hundred others will have travelled to the city just to sample the atmosphere.

Last season, Ajax showed their pedigree by making the last-four of the competition and will be looking to at least replicate that feat this season.

Chelsea, on the other hand, missed out on Champions League action last season but did manage to win the Europa League, thrashing Arsenal in the final, in Baku.

As is the norm, we’re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to offer your views on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big game.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Frank Lampard.

3 – The action as it happens in the Amsterdam Arena

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period after the final whistle has sounded.

Let’s hope Chelsea extend their recent run of victories to six with a sublime performance.

Up the Chels!

  • Ajax backline is open a better Frontline like mane, Salah, firmino would have been 3 goals up…
Odoi is having a lot of ball inside the 18 yard box, but he has never been a goal scorer to me… If Ajax score first, that’s a loss to Chelsea. Abraham, Willian and especially odoi should improve quickly in this match.

  • A good win… Chelsea played a professional game towards the end… Shout out to zouma, tomori, AZPILICUETA, Kovacic, jorghino and pulisic… Michy missed one Chance and scored the other… A good duck by Alonso to confuse the Ajax player.

  • Great win made possible largely thanks to Pulisic who really made things happen. Bats missed a chance early after coming on but converted expertly of the Pulisic assist later on. Pulisic making a strong case to get into the starting role.

  • It is not a coincidence that Pulisic has won us two games on the row. It is a sign that the kid is a good player and is gradually starting to make his mark in matches. The ability and brevity to drive into the heart of opposition defence is a delight to watch and if he could add goalscoring to his already impressive performances then he could become a great player

  • Riswan…pulisic has been a good player… Chelsea paid about $58 for him. But he needs to take his time, and improve… If not, media and fans will tear into him…
Klopp did it to Keita and Fabinho.
