Match Day Moments – Champions League Group H – Ajax (A)

|

On Wednesday evening, Chelsea play their third game in Group H when they take on the Dutch side, Ajax, in Amsterdam.

In their previous two games in the group, Chelsea have been beaten, at home, by Valencia whilst also winning, away from home, against Lille.

But there is no doubt that Ajax are the most difficult opposition in our group and the home and away fixtures, against the Dutch giants, will prove to be the toughest games.

In the splendid city of Amsterdam, Chelsea will be cheered on by approximately 2500 supporters in the wonderful Amsterdam Arena but we’ve no doubt several hundred others will have travelled to the city just to sample the atmosphere.

Last season, Ajax showed their pedigree by making the last-four of the competition and will be looking to at least replicate that feat this season.

Chelsea, on the other hand, missed out on Champions League action last season but did manage to win the Europa League, thrashing Arsenal in the final, in Baku.

As is the norm, we’re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to offer your views on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big game.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Frank Lampard.

3 – The action as it happens in the Amsterdam Arena

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period after the final whistle has sounded.

Let’s hope Chelsea extend their recent run of victories to six with a sublime performance.

Up the Chels!
