Chelsea head to Northern Europe today for a Champions League encounter with Lille.

After the 1-0 defeat, at the hands of Valencia, in the opening fixture of Group H, Frank Lampard will be looking for his side to grab a result against the so-called minnows of our group.

But, no match in this competition is easy, on their day any side is capable of upsetting the apple-cart, Chelsea will need to be on top of their game and make sure, unlike on Saturday against Brighton, they take all their chances.

As usual, here at Vital Chelsea, we’re running our regular Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to leave your opinions, in our comment facility, on a variety of subjects including but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big game.

2 – The starting XI selected by Frank Lampard.

3 – The action as it happens at the Stade Pierre Mauroy

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate aftermath of the final whistle sounding.

Here’s hoping, after the 1-0 defeat at home to Valencia, Chelsea get their Champions League aspirations back on track.

Up the Chels!

  • Great result we’re getting there just need to tighten up at the back a few sloppy moments that we got away with but overall very pleased

  • My word!! Did I just see Jorginho strike a first time shot against the post? The whole premier league will be in trouble if and when Jorginho adds long range strikes to his already impressive performances. This guy is making us eat our humble pies as the season progresses. I still have my reservations about Willian but that was a wonderful goal to win us all the points

  • Hudson Odoi is already making himself undroppable with 2 assists in 2 games despite coming on from the bench. I don’t want to jinx it but I think we might end the season with a trophy or 2 when we have a full squad to choose from. These are indeed interesting times to be a Chelsea supporter and long may this continue

  • I have been a Chelsea supporter for 49 years.
I suggest the front three be…Hudson O Bats Tammy. Or Giroud William Pedro
    GO CHELSEA !!!!
