Just days after suffering an undeserved mauling, at the hands of Manchester United at Old Trafford, Chelsea find themselves in with a chance of landing their first piece of silverware under the managerial acumen of Frank Lampard.

Tonight, in Turkey, Chelsea takes on Liverpool in the annual fixture that pits the Europa League winners (us) against the Champions League winners (Liverpool).

If Chelsea are to emerge victorious tonight then they’ll have to take any chances that come their way whilst the defence will have to be a lot tighter than it was in the opening Premier League fixture against Manchester United.

But whilst most pundits can only see one winner in this, Liverpool, it is the type of game that Chelsea will relish.

As usual we’re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to air your views on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the game.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Frank Lampard.

3 – The action as it happens in Turkey.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period that follows the sounding of the final whistle.

Let’s hope we all retire to bed this evening with a smile on our faces.

Up the Chels!

  • Two mistakes from Lampard tonight! Substitution of Christensen if no injury was not correct and trusting a young player, Abraham to take the last spot kick. There is so much pressure for the last spot kick which requires maturity.

  • We played some good football I think we will have a good team we have players still injured Hudson-Odoi Loftus-Cheek Rudiger so could be an exciting season going to be a bit of a rollercoaster season but I’m looking forward to it all in all I think frank will do well
