Match Day Moments – Leicester City (H) – Super Frank Returns To Stamford Bridge As The Boss

|

In the first week of the new season, it’s fair to say that results have not been kind to Frank Lampard as the former midfielder looks to pay back the faith shown in him by the Chelsea hierarchy.

Last Sunday, Frank watched on as his side, at Old Trafford, performed well, in patches, but were soundly beaten by Manchester United although, in my opinion, the gap between the two sides was never four goals.

On Wednesday evening, in Turkey, Frank watched on as his side lost the European Super Cup Final, on penalties, after outplaying the current Champions League winners, Liverpool.

But the two performances given in those games suggest that Frank’s Chelsea will come good and that a golden future lies just around the corner.

Today, Frank takes charge of his first game, at Stamford Bridge, since taking over at the managerial helm and our all-time top goal-scorer is sure to get a heroes’ welcome from the Chelsea faithful.

The opposition, this afternoon, are Leicester City and although Brendan Rodgers side will provide tough opposition it is a game we’re expected to win.

As is the norm, we’re running our Match Day Moments feature where we encourage you to offer your thoughts on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the game.

2 – The starting eleven as named by Frank Lampard.

3 – The action as it takes places at Stamford Bridge.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period following the sound of the final whistle.

Fingers cross Chelsea get that first win and any pressure that the media are placing on Frank is eased.

Up the Chels!
