It’s another home fixture for Chelsea today as we welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge.

On paper it’s a game we should win, but football isn’t played on paper otherwise Chelsea Football Club, the defending Premier League title holders, wouldn’t be lurking in thirteenth place in the table with no chance of finishing in the top four.

But such is life!

It’s one game at a time for us Chelsea supporters as we seek to climb the table whilst also harbouring hopes of silverware in the Champions League and the FA Cup.

Ever the optimists aren’t we!

Newcastle arrive in SW6 struggling to avoid relegation, their away form is poor and their manager, Steve McClaren, is a man under pressure.

Chelsea, defending an unbeaten run, the current longest in the Premier League, may well have one-eye on the difficult trip to Paris to take on Paris St-Germain, on Tuesday evening, let’s hope that doesn’t detract from the performance this evening.

As usual we’re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to offer your opinions on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the game.

2 – The starting eleven as named by Guus Hiddink.

3 – The action as it happens on the Stamford Bridge pitch.

4 – Your thoughts in the period immediately after the final whistle but before the match report is published

Come on Chelsea, give us a performance we can be proud of and the three points available.
