It’s back, in its familiar guise, our regular match day feature.

Our attempts to re-brand it were not universally accepted by the Vital Chelsea membership so, naturally, we’ve bowed to pressure.

This afternoon, Chelsea take on Newcastle United, at St James Park in a Premier League fixture.

After winning the opening two fixtures, Maurizio Sarri will be looking to make it three on the bounce at a ground where, in recent times, Chelsea have struggled.

Our opponents have not made the best of starts to the season picking up just one point from the six available and should be there for the taking.

As is the norm, we are running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we encourage you to participate, leaving our views on a variety of topics including but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the game.

2 – The starting eleven as named by Maurizio Sarri.

3 – The action as it happens at St James Park.

4 – Your thoughts in the period between the sounding of the final whistle and the match report appearing on Vital Chelsea.

Let’s hope we’re all smiles come the final whistle.

  • We can’t afford an Arsenal type display defensively because if they get that crowd behind them we will be right up against it remember last season a very lack lustre display however if we play offensively like against Arsenal they will crumble

  • Wonder why Hazard rarely does a cut in cross on his right foot, he is usually afforded space because defenders are scared of his dribbles.

  • Luiz lacks pace, but Sarri has gone with his experience for the moment …. Let’s see for how long.

  • 81% possession …those are Barcelona-esque numbers … Now if only we can convert that into goals 🙂

  • hazzard hacked all game and a definite foul for their goal. 900+ passes by
CFC in the game but we were still a bit static in the final third. Can’t get
more than 3 points so still heading in the right direction.
