The New Year is upon us and what better way to blow that New Years’ Eve hangover away than watching Chelsea on the south coast as they take on Brighton in a Premier League fixture.

After the poor first thirty-minute performance in the game against Arsenal, at the Emirates Stadium, is it too much to hope that Chelsea come out of the blocks all-guns blazing?

But Brighton will be a tough fixture; Graham Potter has justified his appointment, at the club, by inspiring his side to produce some memorable performances.

As is the norm, we’re running our regular Match Day Moments feature where we encourage you to leave your views on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big game.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Frank Lampard.

3 – The action as it happens at the AMEX Stadium.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period after the final whistle has been blown.

Is it too much to hope for a third consecutive away in, in the Premier League, to cement our place in the top-four?

  • Another 2 pts dropped against a bottom half club …sheesh … No way we are going to achieve top-4 if this continues

  • I really don’t want to be pessimistic but I think we have lost our fighting spirit. Or how would you explain us dropping points against any decent opposition who get in our faces? Gone are those days when a one goal lead from Chelsea is enough to guarantee a win even if the opposition was Barcelona

  • Yet again we get muggers by a gosl from a lower table team. What has happened to our possession game. We are getting overrun by weak teams. Very worrying.

  • First half totally dominated should be scoring more they were there for the taking then sloppy passing second half gives them chances we gave the ball away under no pressure then they run up the pitch hardly challenged and win a corner then score good finish but there was no Chelsea player near him kepa saved us today make no mistake.why take Pulisic off Hudson-Odoi didn’t play anywhere near as well very frustrating day two points lost and watching the match frank will have to use the transfer window

  • I still continue to wonder if Kante playing so much forward so much of the time (though he is outstanding) is the reason we find ourselves so vulnerable on the counter.

  • Saving grace is Spurs dropping all 3 pts …. But Leicester show no signs of a wobble, so it’s just 4th place up for grabs … We can’t keep doing well against top teams only to lose or draw to bottom teams !

  • Said it before Kante hasn’t got over that spate of injuries our best pairing so far this season has been Kovacic and Jorginho
