This afternoon Chelsea welcome Watford, to Stamford Bridge, for their penultimate Premier League fixture of the 2018 / 2019 season.

Despite shipping a plethora of criticism since taking over the managerial hot-seat, at Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri should, perhaps, be praised for guiding the club into a position where a win today, followed by a win away to Leicester City next week, will see Champions League football return to Stamford Bridge.

Now whether, considering Chelsea’s record when it comes to managerial appointments, be enough to ensure he remains in the post for next season, remains to be seen.

However, Watford arrive in our neck of the woods having had a pretty decent season themselves, they’ve more than consolidated their Premier League status whilst also having reached the FA Cup Final, where a date with Manchester City awaits them.

A win today should not be taken for granted, Watford are more than capable of springing the shock result that might end those aspirations of a top-four finish.

As is the norm, we’re running our Match Day Moments feature where we invite you to express your views on a number of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the big game.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Maurizio Sarri.

3 – The action as it happens at Stamford Bridge.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period following the sounding of the final whistle.

Here’s hoping that we enter the final day of the 2018 / 2019 Premier League season with our hopes of a top-four finish well and truly alive.

  • The totterers have tottered yet again, if we don’t take advantage it will be criminal !

  • Let’s hope Watford are more worried about their cup final they are quite unpredictable we need to win I don’t care how ugly just win no more room for mr cock up

  • There is a scenario where fourth place does not get CL entry; basically Two English clubs, other than Chelsea winning both European trophies. So third is what we really need to get

  • Arsenal ahead …. If it ends this way there will be 2 PTS separating 3rd to 5th …. Our goal difference is superior to Arsenal but inferior to Spurs …. Last day is going to be a thriller

  • Yes …. L’arse muck it up yet again … Great result for us …. Now let’s just match the totterer’s result at Everton next week to seal 3rd … Leicester are no easy opponents though

  • Neither are Everton zeenut and don’t forget the Korean is suspended I’m pleased now because arsenal have to win europa League so pressure on them will be mounting whereas we can play with some degree of comfort knowing champions league is assured

  • True …. The pressure is now off, plus the players will want to get their hands on a trophy …. Especially Hazard I feel would like to give the fans a farewell trophy …. but let’s take care of Eintract first
