The return of an old favourite.
This afternoon is set to be a nerve-wracking affair.
Who’d have thought, back in August, with a fledgling manager in charge, a transfer ban in place and after the sale of our best player, Chelsea would still be in with a chance of top-four finish and a place in the Champions League next season.
With such restrictions in place I don’t mind admitting that a top-ten finish was the most I expected.
This afternoon, it is a pretty-decent Wolverhampton Wanderers side that stands between us and that coveted top-four place with a draw being enough to clinch that coveted Champions League spot.
Chelsea could even finish in fourth place if they get beaten this afternoon as long as Manchester United can win away to Leicester City.
But I doubt whether my nerves would stand the anticipation so let’s go out and get a convincing win this afternoon.
As has always been the case, we’re asking you to comment on a variety of topics including, but not limited to:
1 – The build-up to the big game.
2 – The starting eleven as selected by Frank Lampard.
3 – The action as it takes place down at Stamford Bridge.
4 – Your thought in the immediate aftermath of the final whistle being sounded.
Let’s keep those fingers crossed and hope we’re all smiles come this evening.

What balls from Lamps to drop Kepa ! Really sad that Willian isn’t fit for this most important game.
I reckon Kepa has played his last game for us on the evidence of today! Also gutted Willian is injured.
If only Lamps had started Pulisic against Pool we might have got our point then …. If we lose today & don’t qualify for CL, Lamps will take flak, but gotta admire his guts … He probably realised if the same thing happened with Kepa in goal, he’d feel worse for having not taken the hard decision ….
We seem rather toothless at the moment …. Missing William enormously
Pulicic is surrounded by Wolves players everytime he gets the ball …. No cutting edge still
he’s looked better since moving inside off the wing
2-0 …. Did I say no cutting edge ?
it took a while to come alive fair to say both sides were boring before that opening goal
Great freekick from Mount followed by a absolutely brilliant finish from Giroud from good work by Public & Mount
I started hoping ManU would do us a favour …. Hopefully that won’t be needed now
still might ease the pressure if they were to score at Leicester City. I’m mindful of how easy we concede goals.
True ….. Or we should go 3 goals up , then we can relax
No squeaky bum time, thank goodness ! We really have controlled the 2nd half
we have and it was a job well done, now bring on Arsenal
Full credit to Lampard for his decision on Kepa ….he is one decisive manager … Post resumption of the season I’ve really liked his decisive subs during matches …. He does not wait till the last 20-25 minutes, makes changes at half time itself if things aren’t working out
Now for the FA final
