Tonight, Chelsea will be looking to secure their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League when they travel to Rome to take on Roma.

It`ll be a tough task to grab the win that will secure that aforementioned place as Roma showed they are a class-act at Stamford Bridge, coming back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 before the game eventually finished 3-3.

In what will be a hostile atmosphere, Chelsea will need to produce the kind of performance they did when they became the first English side to beat Atletico Madrid on home soil.

As is the norm, we`re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we encourage you to air your opinions on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build up to the fixture.

2 – The starting eleven named by Antonio Conte.

3 – The action as it happens in the eternal city.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period between the final whistle sounding and the match report appearing on Vital Chelsea.

Come on Chelsea!

  • Unfortunately I figure Cahill is back in over rudiger today. Or both play and azpilicueta moves to wing back

  • Azpilicueta was very dissapointing against Roma at the bridge. Not sure ZC can do better though….but Rudiger beside Azpi should help which unfortunately leaves the LCB position to Cahil. Its going to be an interesting match.

  • With all our midfield players fit, our weakest link is Marcos Alonso. I have noticed that Bakayoko is stronger as an attacking midfielder but a bit weak as a defensive midfielder.

  • elmezy, best way to watch it is ESPN 3 on-line, you probably get Faux Sports just like we do, they have yet to show a Chelsea champions league game this season . I really hope they lose the Champions League rights to NBC when the contract expires . ESPN have the rights to a bunch of games on line, so just go to ESPN 3 .That is where i watched the first leg and the league cup .

  • @Elemzy, It will be on TSN network as well and DAZN canada online tv ( you have to pay subscription 20CAD/month. If you want a free online streaming options..just type our match on google and add spotek free livestream in front, it will give you decent streaming links, they can be annoying sometimes though, hanging and all that..cheers

  • Chelsea team: Courtois; Rudiger, David Luiz, Cahill (c); Azpilicueta, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Alonso; Pedro, Morata, Hazard

  • In as much as I dont want to complain, but a middle two of Cesc and Bakayoko against Roma’s middle 3 of Strotman, Naigolan and De Rossi will definitely make things very difficult for us at least on paper, I am worried. if Kante is not fit, I would have started DD in a middle 3 in a 3-5-2. The only way this makes a little sense is if Pedro will tuck in as the third player in a middle 3 to support Cesc and Bakayoko when we do not have the ball, even with that , it will still be difficult. I hope we find a way but I am expecting a very tough game with plenty goals…..Common chelsea

  • fabregas, cahill again in the team sheet. am not a fan of fabregas he’s too lazy and lightweight.

  • Not the starting eleven I was hoping for, no Kante & Drinkwater on the bench, I am worried we are relying on Fabregas & Bakayoko again.

  • The love affair between Conte and Fabregas worries me a lot. Fabregas needs to be rested for crying out loud. why not pair Bakayoko with Drinkwater instead.

  • What will cost Conte his job on the long run is stubbornness. why persist with a bakayoko-fabregas pairing when it has been our wink links all the while? why persist with a cahill that has been a serious cause for concern with alonso at the moment? watch roma dismantle us today and then the lart match with athletico becomes a decider and the two early victories that made the knockout a certainty and the europa league becomes more likely.jj

  • Eden Hazard has created more goalscoring chances than anybody else this season in the Champions League (13). – let’s hope someone can stick a few away tonight then!

  • @Uncle Merllin I will take another draw but I am going 3-2 to chelsea with my blue tinted eyes. The match will be high scoring it appears. Conte’s selections looks like it might make things a little more difficult for us than it should be. But I am only a fan, Conte knows tactics, maybe he will come up with a different way to play.

  • Score tonight – 2-1 to Chelsea, fingers crossed, lucky rabbits foot in my pocket and four leafed clover on the side of the chair 🙂
