It`s still some twelve hours to the kick-off but already the nerves are starting to kick in!

I guess that`s the norm when you`re so close to a Premier League title you can almost touch it but the fear is there that another club, one you simply don`t like, could snatch it from within your grasp.

As things stand, Chelsea sit four points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur with just six games to go. A win against Southampton tonight, at Stamford Bridge, would see that leap jump to seven points with Tottenham set to travel to Selhurst Park, tomorrow night, to take on Crystal Palace.

Tonight is a game that Chelsea should win, but the Premier League has already taught us that nothing should be taken for granted, every team are, on their day, capable of beating any other side.

As usual, we`re running a Match Day Moments thread whereby we invite you to participate and leave you views on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to,

1 – The build-up to the fixture.

2 – The starting eleven as selected Antonio Conte.

3 – The action as it happens down at Stamford Bridge.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate aftermath of the final whistle.

Let`s hope it all turns out good tonight!

  • Fabregas in for Willian & Cahill returned to starting eleven against the Saints tonight. Hoping for a convincing victory & open another seven points lead at the top. Common get in there & do the job…..the entire Blues fraternity the world over is fully behind you guys. KTBFFH!!!

  • @Joe Onda I guess the idea is creativity aimed at exploiting the excellent link up play between Hazard & Fabregas….remember the build up to Matic’s goal. COYB!

  • Communication breakdown between Azpi & Luiz could have resulted in a goal…. not what we need now.

  • Goaaaalllllllll….. Hazard… 1-0. Great! I think Hazard is heeding to Cesc’s advice to shoot more often…

  • Good start what a goal from Hazard Costa with assist. Now go ahead & kill off the game & make way for early substitution. Whatever Hazard touches turns to go gold….. does no wrong, quite in-form. KTBFFH!!!

  • I think Fabregas need to drop deeper & create. Hazaaaarrrrd, he should have done better with that chance.

  • Very sloppy Cesc need to drop deep & add to our number in midfield otherwise Saints look very comfortably attacking us especially through our left flank & even dictating the tempo. Conte need to do something as they are playing as if they are at home. So worrying indeed!

  • I fear this guy in the center Lee Mason, he seems to be against Chelsea can’t understand his officiating. Fair to Saints they are really taking the game to us. Ouch what a chance missed by Moses!

  • Cahilllll 2:1 Chelsea. Justice served in the end as Lee Mason refused to award penalty but Cahill with a header.

  • Halftime Che 2:1 Sou. A very good game of football end to end, credit to Saints they played really well.
