Only two players are currently at Stamford Bridge now who were in the first team squad when Guus Hiddink spent his first spell with us as an interim manager, John Terry and John Obi Mikel.

The former`s Chelsea future is still undecided with Terry looking a if, after two decades with the club his time with us is finally coming to an end.

As for the latter, the arrival of Guus Hiddink for a second interim spell has seen his Chelsea career resurrected.

When Jose Mourinho was at the helm, John Obi Mikel didn`t get a look in but with Guus now back at the helm Mikel has found himself a valued member of the first team squad.

It is now being suggested that the Nigerian, who has been at Stamford Bridge for over a decade, could be rewarded with a new contract.

Mikel`s current contract still has fifteen months to run but it is looking as if the twenty-nine year-old could be rewarded, according to a small article in the Mirror today, a new contract
