Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Who performed the poorest of them all?

I`m not sure it`s a subject worth delving into but, on the back of what was the worst performance and result of the season, at least our club captain, Gary Cahill, has stepped forward and been brave enough to come out with a few words that have a ring of truth about them.

Talking to the The BBC, Cahill, in describing last night, is quoted as having remarked, that it was time for the players ‘to look in the mirror` whilst also adding:

‘This is the worst I’ve felt for quite a while.

‘Performance-wise, I didn’t recognise us or myself. It was abysmal.
‘We just need to keep strong. I’ve been here before at this club – it’s about staying calm. It hurts a lot when you come off after a performance like that.’

However, Cahill, like Thibaut Courtois, has also come out with a few words of support for the under-pressure Antonio Conte, remarking,

‘Whatever is decided, the players have to take responsibility.

‘The manager has done an absolutely unbelievable job.’

He has and it would be heart-breaking if those in charge resorted to type and let the axe fall, but football, as we`re all aware, is something of a cut-throat business these days!
