Morata Back with a Bang

After making a blistering start to his Chelsea career, after joining from Real Madrid, things haven`t gone too well for Alvaro Morata in recent weeks.

The Spaniard has been troubled by niggling injuries and his form had dipped to such an extent that he hadn`t hit the back of the net for fourteen games.

The suggestion being banded about by the media was that his confidence was shot.

Well that certainly didn`t seem to be the case against Leicester City, in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Set through by an exquisite pass by Willian, Morata produced an excellent finish to give Chelsea the lead, hardly the finish of somebody low on confidence.

Later in the game, an audacious back-heel almost saw Morata score a second goal with only a combination of the woodwork and the offside flag depriving him of what could have been the goal of the season.

Following the final whistle, Antonio Conte had a few words of appreciation for his star-striker, with the boss remarking,

‘He played a good game. He showed great commitment and scored an important goal. The most important thing is that he works very well for the team with and without the ball. He has potential. He is a young player and this is his first full season in England.”

It is and here at Vital Chelsea, we reckon Morata is ready to finish the season with a flourish, a winning goal in the FA Cup Final perhaps and legend status possibly.
