After going the whole of October without a goal, although admittedly he was injured for part of the month, Alvaro Morata got back on the score-sheet this afternoon.

But it wasn`t just any old goal, the Spaniard rose superbly to meet a precision cross from Cesar Azpilicueta and proceeded to power a header into the top corner of the net past David de Gea who was rooted to the spot.

After the game, facing the question from the Sky Sports team, Morata was asked whether it was the most important goal of his Chelsea career so far, to which he replied,

‘For sure.

‘It is important that we won. We had a very good chance today to come back to winning ways. We are happy now with the international break we can go with three points.’

Yes we can, but as an aside, whilst Morata was actively involved in the game and could easily have scored a second late on, his opposite number, the former Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku didn`t get one touch in our penalty area throughout the whole ninety minutes!
