Ahead of the Community Shield this Sunday, a play-off between the reigning champions and holders of The FA Cup that officially kicks off the 2015/2016 season, Jose Mourinho held a press conference which, as we’ve come to expect of these sessions with the Special One, wasn’t devoid of pure entertainment.

Speaking on a number of issues, including transfers, Costa and Cahill who he declared are both fit for the Sunday clash, the magic of Eden Hazard, the importance of the Community Shield itself and the prospect of facing his old foe Arsene Wenger on Sunday, he didn’t fail to reiterate what we all know as gospel: Arsenal are more of the same, with or without our Cech who was surplus to requirements here…implying that they remain nothing but a mere threat and will always flatter to deceive as they’ve done since, well, who cares to recall?

Asked if the Gooners, who are wont to lay this spurious claim of playing the most expansive brand of football in the country that for the best part of the last decade has led them absolutely no where other than to domestic and foreign failures, were a genuine title contender for the upcoming season and if he’ll be looking over his shoulder for his record over Wenger, Mourinho who has not lost in 13 games against the “specialist in failure”, and Arsenal, said:

“No. I just want my club to get the best possible result. Doesn’t matter Arsenal, doesn’t matter the manager. I just want my teams, my clubs to try to get the best possible results. That’s the only thing that matters.

“In football you can win or lose or draw. In this case you have to be ready for everything. I never made my victories over Arsenal an explosion of happiness or special pride. I will not make a drama if one day we lose.”

As for whether Arsenal are title challengers, Mourinho replied: “I always think they are. They have a very good squad, so in this second period in England, immediately when I arrived two years ago, I look at them as a very good squad, with very good players. So I think it’s more of the same. They are a top squad.”

More of the same, Jose?

You mean the N5 lot will finish a massive 12 points off of us, again?

Ouch! Touché!!
