Mourinho`s Friend Said???.

A friend said…, he told a friend….., blah, blah, blah!

How many times have you actually been confronted by somebody you know uttering a tale about how so and so said…………?

I guess, like everyone else the answer will be a thousand times or more.

Well today we’re confronted with yet another exclusive relating to the future of our very own Special One.

This time according to a media source, Jose has told a friend that he’s definitely walking out on Chelsea in May. That he’s fed up with the interference from boardroom level and that, at this moment in time, he doesn’t have a clue where he is heading.

Alarming words indeed if you were to take them at face value!

Thankfully, words shouldn’t always be taken at face value, after all, how many times, in your childhood days, can you recall your mother telling you she’d swing for you after another spell of errant behaviour or you father threatening to belt you to within an inch of your life after you’d been caught getting into mischief again?

Unfortunately, what is appearing on a daily basis now is surely starting to become very worrying for all Chelsea supporters. Just a little too much information is being leaked for it to be too readily dismissed. Or is it?

Could everything printed on the subject be still just pure speculation? The sort of speculation that is often recycled when news is short or when weary hacks are desperate for a headline grabbing story.

Sadly, this latest exclusive is considered news-worthy enough to share the back page with the Beckham Roadshow heading off to the City of Angels. There is no real need to double up on exclusives as there is enough mileage still left in the Beckham tank to nullify any ‘Mourinho to quit’ regurgitated news.

The fact that those suited gentlemen within the confines of Stamford Bridge continue to offer no response to the rumours only goes to muddy the waters. Surely we, as supporters, deserve more than a veiled throw away line on Chelsea TV suggesting the club is offering no comment in order to deny the rumours any dignity?

Several of us supporters have long memories.

We can recall how Eddie McCreadie walked after being denied a decent company car.
How Ruud Gullit was forced out of the door for having the temerity to ask for £2 million net.

How Luca Vialli despite being (at the time) the most successful manager in our history was shown the door.

How a likeable Italian, Claudio Ranieri, took us to second place in the Premiership during a year when Arsenal were unbeatable and also got us to the Champions League semi-final before being cruelly sacked.

Amongst all the rumours and such like, am I the only one who feels that, once again, Chelsea are getting ready to hit the infamous self-destruct button?

Be afraid, be very afraid?
