This Tuesday evening Chelsea welcome the Belgian side, Lille, to Stamford Bridge for their last fixture, in Group H, of the Champions League.

But whereas, in previous years, qualification, for the knockout stages, may have already been achieved this season is different.

Chelsea, on the back of some indifferent Premier League form that has seen them lose three out of their last four games, enter this game knowing that only a win will completely ensure Stamford Bridge continues to witness Champions League football in the New Year.

On paper it looks to be a task Chelsea should achieve with Lille being the whipping boys of the group but, as we all know, we shouldn’t take anything for granted in this wonderful game of ours.

As is the norm we’re running our Name the Starting XI feature whereby we invite you to second-guess the eleven that Frank Lampard will opt for.

For the last two Premier League games, against Aston Villa and Everton, Frank has selected the same eleven, will the boss make changes for this one?

Could we see the return of Jorginho who only made the bench for those two previous games?

To participate, all we ask is that you simply drop your predicted starting eleven into the comment facility beneath this article and we’ll see who gets closest, or indeed, spot-on.

  • For Lampard to strengthen his defence, let him start with his goal keeper,Kepa is not at the level we expect and 3-4 games on the bench will help him see things differently.

Zouma is week and needs a speedy back-up for recovery and for now only Tomori offers that until probably Rudiger comes back.
Its finally time for Alonso to make a start as he has seen what the other 2 can offer and will be expecting him to offer something different.

  • Lille pull one back & suddenly it’s no longer an easy canter to victory …. Tammy already off for Batsuayi … Hope we get a 3rd to restore the 2 goal advantage

  • We got the result but it’s alarming that in most games of late we have the ability to put ourselves under pressure it’s like pressing a self destruct button we should have cruised that after all they had a poor lineup and rested players
