After the delights of appearing in the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, in our last two fixtures, Chelsea make a return to Premier League action this weekend when they welcome Newcastle United, to Stamford Bridge.
The disappointment of losing to Tottenham Hotspur, at Wembley, was tempered by the performance given although the lack of a cutting edge, with Chelsea not having a world-class striker, continues to trouble us.
The fixture, this weekend, will see Rafael Benitez return to Stamford Bridge as the boss of Newcastle, whilst in temporary charge of Chelsea, Benitez guided the club to the Europa League trophy, something the Spaniard isn’t always given the credit he is deserved of.
As usual, we’re running our usual feature whereby we ask you to second-guess the starting eleven Maurizio Sarri will select, with a plethora of fixtures coming thick and fast, the Italian is having to juggle his squad taking into account injuries and those who could be on the verge of exiting the club in the January transfer window.
Hopefully, Sarri will release Eden Hazard of the burden of playing as a false number 9 and play a recognised centre forward, Chelsea look far better balanced with Hazard drifting in from the flanks.
If you reckon you able to second-guess Sarri, or even get close to his thinking, please feel free to drop your predicted starting eleven into the comment box beneath this article and we’ll see who gets the closest, or perhaps see if anyone gets it spot on.
