Now Bringing Back This Striker Would Put A Smile On My Face

|

Putting my cards on the table, I’d suggest that the last world-class striker to wear our famous shirt was Diego Costa.

Okay, the Brazilian born Spanish international had his flaws, but he could never be accused of lacking commitment and he certainly knew where the net was.

Since Chelsea sold the 30-year-old to Atletico Madrid a succession of replacements have stepped into the void left by the player but nobody has emulated his feats.

Today, it is being reported by the Spanish news source, mundodeportivo, that Atletico Madrid are ready to sell the striker.

The La Liga club have, seemingly, grown tired of his antics and want rid of the player.

Costa is currently serving a ban, for his latest transgression, that won’t see him play again this season and as a result, the fiery character has stopped, much to the disgust of his club, training.

I know it is something that probably won’t happen, with China the most likely next stopping point for the player, but wouldn’t it be great to see him back at Stamford Bridge, even if it were only for a single season.
