Yesterday, picking up on the news threads from the previous seventy-two hours, we ran an article on our club captain, Gary Cahill.

In the article Click Here, we covered the suggestion, made by Cahill, that the defender, having decided to leave Chelsea, had no intention of retiring and wanted to play on.

Indeed, Cahill suggested he wanted to continue, if possible, playing in the top-flight.

In finishing our article, we mentioned we’d do our best to report further on any possible destinations for one of the heroes of that marvellous night in Munich.

Today, courtesy of Sky Sports, we have our first indication of where Cahill might be playing his football next season, with our quoted source implying that Burnley are one of a number of clubs considering making a move for the 33-year-old.

Naturally, Cahill will take time to mull over any offers he receives but, for some reason, Cahill and Burnley, to me, seems a good fit.
