On the day a Chelsea old boy returned to the fold as the assistant manager to Andre Villas-Boas, another Chelsea old-boy found employment.

It may not be in surroundings as glamorous as Stamford Bridge but David Lee will be glad to get back into the profession having been appointed as the assistant manager at Northampton Town.

Lee, fondly knows as Rodney during his time at Chelsea, was a loyal servant to the club and somebody who many feel could have gone a little further during his time with us.

Selecting one moment that I`ll remember him for, in our blue shirt, I`d have to select that sad day when Tottenham Hotspur arrived at Stamford Bridge only a matter of days after the tragic death of Matthew Harding following a League Cup tie at Burnden Park.

It was an afternoon when emotions were raw, but when Chelsea were awarded a penalty, up stepped David to make no mistake as Chelsea emerged winners that day in what some felt was a fitting tribute to the late Matthew Harding.

Several years later, queuing up outside the entrance the Shed Upper, I found myself stood behind David and a certain Alec Stewart, proving that once a blue always a blue.

Good luck at Northampton from all of us at Vital Chelsea.
