Opinion: Good News With Chelsea On the Verge Of Securing The Services Of Another Key Squad Member

|

There’s no doubt that the two-window transfer ban will hit Chelsea hard.

Whilst our rivals, in the Premier League, will reinforce their squads this summer, Chelsea can’t.

Throw into the mix the fact that Chelsea have also lost their jewel-in-the-crown, with Eden Hazard joining Real Madrid, and you can see that the 2019 / 2020 season will be a real challenge for whoever replaces Maurizio Sarri in the Chelsea hot seat.

Therefore, it is essential that the club manages to retain the services of those players they currently have, whilst it would be great to encourage the young players at the squad to make this their breakthrough season, we need also to have those who have the experience to give the side some stability.

Today, lurking in the pages of the tabloid publication, the Sun, is the inference that Chelsea are close to securing the services of Willian for a further two-years

The 30-year-old Brazilian, on his day, can be a match-winner and getting his name on a new contract is, I feel, a good piece of work by the Chelsea hierarchy.

But is that a view you concur with?
