After being pole-axed by the Arsenal goalkeeper, David Ospina, last Saturday during Chelsea`s 3-0 win over Arsenal, Pedro was flown back to England suffering from concussion.

Further tests revealed that the Spanish international had suffered multiple facial fractures which turned out to be a broken cheekbone and a broken eye socket.

It was suggested, when the news became public, Pedro wouldn`t be able to train for at least ten days and that the wide-player was a doubt for the opening weeks of the season, thoughts that were widely perceived as bad news.

However, today we have some better news.

The good folk of The Sun are reporting that Pedro`s recovery is ahead of schedule and that he resumed training just four days after the incident.

It is hoped that with the aid of a facial mask, something the Spaniard will have to wear until the injuries have healed completely, Pedro could be available for that first fixture of the 2017 / 2018 season against Burnley.
