When John Terry finally bids an emotional farewell to Chelsea Football Club, come the end of the season, it still remains to be seen where the central defender decides to move to.

One possible destination is the Chinese Super League with one media vehicle, Daily Star, carry an interesting interview which suggests that the former Chelsea midfielder, Gus Poyet, would welcome JT to the club he currently manages, Shanghai Shenhua.

Talking about possibly luring the 36-year-old to China, Gus is quoted as having remarked,

‘It is a great opportunity for him and for all the teams here in China, including us.

‘The latest change of the quantity of foreigners on the pitch stops some clubs from bringing in defenders, but we are talking about a special one.

‘It is a great possibility that China will be one of the possible situations for John Terry in the future.’

Poyet, who played in the same Chelsea team as JT, for four years, also added,

‘He is going to be remembered forever. He is a great captain and he has done everything for the club.

‘It is a very difficult decision whether to stay in England or go abroad.

‘I would like him not to play in the Premier League for another club – maybe I’m a little bit selfish.’

Not really Gus, it`s a thought we all share as well.
