With the World Cup qualifying campaigns coming to a close, Germany showed that they could be a force to be reckoned with at the Finals, in Russia, in 2018.

Germany completed their qualifying campaign with a 100% record in Group C, after beating Azerbaijan.

Their 10 games yielded 10 with the Germans scoring 43 goals during their campaign.

The last team to win all their group games, in the qualification process, were Spain, back in 2010, the Spanish went on to win the World Cup that year.

On Sunday, against Azerbaijan, Germany struggled in the first half and went into the break drawing 1-1.

However, the German side were by far the better side in the second half and the goals flowed, with our very own Antonio Rudiger getting on the score-sheet with a header that took a massive deflection but which was still credited to the defender.

Rudiger hadn`t started the game but had come on in the twenty-second minute as a substitute for the injured Sule.

Another blue headed for the biggest stage of all next summer.
