Never mind who Chelsea`s next manager will be, when he arrives he`ll have some work to do in order to rebuild a squad of players who, currently, are past their sell by date, not good enough or who will have simply moved on.

With that in mind we`ve taken a look at Chelsea`s current squad of 24 in order to pigeon hole them into two categories as we play Vital Chelsea’s new game Should He Stay! Or Should He Go! Cue the music!

Thibaut Courtois – Clearly wants to leave the football club. His constant Madrid talk and teasing of Chelsea supporters with his ‘I`ll sign soon` nonsense needs to stop. Sign the contract or go. For next season, Courtois is in the Go! category.

Willy Caballero has been a worthy understudy for Courtois when used this season, great penalty keeper. He`s only on a one-year-deal, that could yet be extended, he can Stay! Unless Petr Cech gets dumped by Arsenal, in which case he`d make an ideal number two.

At 35 years-of-age Eduardo, like Caballero, is contracted until next summer. It seems senseless to have two aging keepers as back-up, surely the third choice should be a youngster. Eduardo, sadly falls into the past it category, in footballing terms of course, if not I`ve no hope. Let’s say he’ll be Go!

Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta very much remain part of the squad and Stay! The next one is tricky, Gary Cahill alongside John Terry was immense in a 60/40 split. Without JT though, he`s struggled, with one year remaining on his contract in the summer, I`m afraid it`s time to Go! Gaz.

Andreas Christensen obviously falls into the Stay! box. He slotted into David Luiz`s spot seamlessly. He`s seen a drop off in form recently, but he`s young and on a big learning curve. David Luiz on the other hand, has not helped Chelsea`s situation. His fallout with Antonio Conte has hindered the squad`s harmony. With just over a year remaining, let`s grab some cash and watch him Go!

Victor Moses, Emerson, Antonio Rudiger and Davide Zappacosta all Stay! Ethan Ampadu has shown great promise, when he`s played, however, in line with Chelsea`s policy regarding appearances, he will most likely have a spell on loan next season, in that sense, he`ll Go! Albeit temporarily.

Tiemoue Bakayoko has not had a great start to his Chelsea career, but deserves another chance with someone else at the helm. So gets a Stay! Ross Barkley and Danny Drinkwater were both new to the squad this season, and add to the ‘English quota’ and are all likely to feature in some way next, so also Stay! Cesc Fabregas is a luxury player Chelsea can ill afford, good as he`s been, it`s time for him to see out his career somewhere else and Go!

Eden Hazard is obviously a Stay! but sadly could be a Go! But, with over two years remaining on his contract, it depends on how much Chelsea want to cash-in. While he can refuse to sign a new deal, he`s going nowhere unless Chelsea say so.

N`golo Kante is simply a Stay! Pedro on the other hand can Go! He`s had a poor season. It started badly and just got worse. Kyle Scott, like Ethan Ampadu may well find himself having to Go! in order to get regular first team action. Willian just has to be a Stay! He may not be popular with certain sections of support, but he is the ultimate squad player.

That just leaves the two strikers, Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud who both Stay!

Thibaut Courtois – Go!
Willy Caballero – Stay!
Eduardo – Go!
Marcos Alonso – Stay!
Cesar Azpilicueta – Stay!

Gary Cahill – Go!
Andreas Christensen – Stay!
David Luiz – Go!
Victor Moses – Stay!
Emerson – Stay!
Antonio Rudiger – Stay!
Davide Zappacosta – Stay!

Ethan Ampadu – Go! (loan)
Tiemoue Bakayoko – Stay!
Ross Barkley – Stay!
Danny Drinkwater – Stay!

Cesc Fabregas – Go!
Eden Hazard – Stay!
N`golo Kante – Stay!

Pedro -Go!
Kyle Scott – Go! (loan)
Willian – Stay!
Alvaro Morata – Stay!
Olivier Giroud – Stay!
