This afternoon, Chelsea are down on the south coast, taking on Southampton in a Premier League fixture.

So far, this season, Chelsea have yet to be beaten in any competition, a superb start in English football for Maurizio Sarri.

However, two draws from their first seven Premier League games have left Chelsea, after the latest round of fixtures, sitting fourth in the table.

A win this afternoon will lift them above Tottenham Hotspur in the table, motivation enough to do the business one would hope.

But, as you can imagine, Mark Hughes will have his own ideas about the outcome of the game and the former Chelsea striker will be looking to spring a first defeat of the season on his former club.

Here at Vital Chelsea, as is the norm, we’re running our Match Day Moments feature whereby we invite you to leave your views on a variety of subjects including, but not limited to:

1 – The build-up to the fixture.

2 – The starting eleven selected by Maurizio Sarri.

3 – The action as it happens down on the south coast.

4 – Your thoughts in the immediate period after the final whistle sounds.

Hopefully, we’ll all be smiles come that final shrill blast on the referees’ whistle.

Up the Chels!

  • Chelsea will win the game but it will be a little bit difficult for the Chelsea side who lacks if scoring without the talisman on the field hazard

  • Chelsea need to commit more players in the opposition box. Passing around too much in the midfield is yielding only possession and nothing else. I’m expecting more goals and I hope Morata comes off the bench to score.

  • Take too long for Willian should pass to Hazard and we should be 2 up … Barkley sparkling today … but Azpilicueta form of recent is concerning

  • Kepa shows his class today makin crucial couple of saves in last 10 minutes… and Barkley is the man of the match for me today

  • Kepa did very well today, he’s really learnt lessons from Sturridge’s goal last week. Hazard is blistering in form and so is Barkley. Good overall performance from the boys. Kudos

  • Overall very happy dominated the match saints didn’t have a look in ,in fact they gave us to much respect cheers hughesy nice 3 point present.sarri has got this team buzzing and he hasn’t had much time to do it either I wouldn’t have expected this joint top when the season started
