Spurs! Well That Didn’t Surprise Anyone Did It

|

It’s probably not politically correct to have a sly giggle at how the draw for the Carabao Cup semi-finals turned out, especially in the current climate where the media are intent on latching onto any misdemeanour committed by the Chelsea support.

But, I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help it.

Come on, with the draw containing the four teams, namely, Chelsea, Burton Albion, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur, wasn’t it blatantly obvious just how it would turn out?

And true to form it did!

Manchester City were given the draw any of whilst the two London sides were paired against each other.

The two-legged semi-final will be a titanic tussle with Tottenham, recently, having the upper hand when it comes to playing Chelsea, but, following the two recent 3-1 defeats inflicted upon us by the side from North London, revenge can be a real motivator.

Chelsea are away for the first leg, on January 7th with the home-leg being scheduled for January 21st.

Hopefully, Chelsea can keep it tight so there is everything to play for by the time the Stamford Bridge leg of the tie arrives.

But, let’s all hope there’s nothing untoward for the media to dig their claws into, that would be the last thing the club needs to kick-start the New Year.
