Superstar Remaining At Chelsea At Least Until January

|

I’m probably not the only Chelsea supporter who heaved a sigh of relief when the summer transfer window closed and Eden Hazard remained a Chelsea player.

There was a real fear after his mutterings after the World Cup that now could be the time to move on and try something new.

However, despite those mutterings it appears that Chelsea refused to entertain any approaches from Real Madrid and, unlike Thibaut Courtois, Eden returned to Cobham with a smile on his face and went about his daily business.

Of course, with clubs on the continent still being able to trade until the end of the month, there is a fear that someone could come along with a huge offer for the player, but I believe that scenario won’t happen and if it did then Chelsea, unable to recruit a replacement until January wouldn’t do business.

Ahead of the trip to take on Huddersfield Town, this afternoon, in the season opener, Maurizio Sarri has spoken about the Hazard situation, remarking, as reported by the BBC

“Hazard is with us. It’s not a problem.

“I have spoken with him three, four times, for everything. He never said anything about the market. He’s very happy to stay here.

“Here the market is closed, so we cannot change important players now. It’s impossible.”

Reassuring words that should alley any lingering fears, well at least until January!
