Whilst is isn?t surprising that John Terry, Frank Lampard, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Joe Cole have been included, many England football supporter’s may be slightly surprised that Wayne Bridge has also been included in the squad.

The left back who suffered a horrific injury against Newcastle United, in an FA Cup game earlier this year, has battled back to full fitness ahead of schedule but hasn?t had much competitive action.

Wayne has played a couple of reserve matches as well as a major part in the recent Carling Cup exit against Charlton Athletic. During the aforementioned clash against Charlton, Wayne openly admitted that he, in the latter stages, struggled for breath but was thankful to get a second wind.

Chelsea supporter?s, who?ve followed Wayne?s career closely since he joined us from Southampton, will none the less be pleased that Wayne, during the aforementioned match, showed some of the skills that quickly established him as a crowd favourite.

One surging run down the left flank resulted in a marvellous cross that Hernan Crespo met at the far post. Unfortunately, Hernan couldn?t quite direct his header and it drifted just wide of the far post. Whilst another audacious flick over an opponents head brought a spontaneous round of applause from a packed Stamford Bridge.

Therefore, whilst his selection for the squad may be a little surprising, all of us Chelsea supporter?s here at Vital Network would like to offer our congratulations to Wayne on regaining his place in the national squad. Here?s hoping the likeable full back can now go on and convince Sven he deserves one of those places available in the squad to go to Germany next year.
