Down in South Wales, at the Liberty Stadium, in inclement weather, Chelsea produced a gritty performance to beat Swansea City 1-0.

The win keeps alive Chelsea’s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season but adds to Swansea’s fears that they could lose their Premier League status come the season end in May.

The only goal of the game came in the fourth minute when Chelsea produced a moment of sweeping football that highlighted the gulf in class between the two sides.

Kante won possession in midfield, slipped the ball to Hazard who pushed forward before providing a perfect ball for Fabregas to curl a lovely shot home from just inside the penalty are to beat Fabianski, in the Swansea goal.

The win closes the gap on fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur to two points, with Chelsea having played a game more.

Tottenham entertain Watford, on Monday evening, can the Hornets do Chelsea a favour?
